Kalasatama Artist House

Kalasatama Artist House is a former two-storey industrial building completed in 1939. The Studio Foundation bought the building in 2007 and renovated it as studios for visual artists. In 2008, visual artists moved in and the opening ceremony of Kalasatama Artist House was held in spring 2009.

Kalasatama Artist House has workspaces for 24 visual artists. In addition, the building has Helsinki Litho, Kalasataman Seripaja and Avoin Taidekoulu as tenants.

The ground floor of the building has two workspaces, sized 41 m² and 48 m², with their own entrances and toilets. They are particularly well-suited for sculptors. The first floor of the building houses 16 workspaces, the smallest of which is 64 m² while the largest one is 15 m².

The building is protected under the Helsinki local detailed plan.
